BACKGROUND REPORT TO LAUDERDALE COMMUNITY COUNCIL ON
IMPROVEMENTS TO THE LOOK AND UPKEEP OF LAUDER CEMETERY.

Attached to this background Report is a suggested Plan of Action for ongoing improvements to the upkeep of Lauder Cemetery. Lauderdale Community Council was asked to approve/ support/amend items within the suggested Plan, then forward their final proposal formally to Scottish Borders Council (SBC). Where possible, photographs have been incorporated within the attached plan.

2 The proposals within the Plan of Action attached are based on :
A Responses received following inclusion of artivles in the Lauderdale News on the Cemetery project
B The notes of the initial meeting on improvements to the Ccemetery (October 2024) as approved by SBC Councillors and Staff
C Progress and further improvements as discussed during the three site meetings 2024/2025
D Ongoing discussions with visitors to the Cemetery (2023/2025) on their views to improve the tended look of, and the facilities available, at the Cemetery.
