ABOUT OUR HUB
What is a community hub? it is a centralised, multi-purpose space—physical or virtual-where local people come together to access services, participate in activities, and strengthen social connections.
Since Covid the world seems to have become increasingly fragmented, but, quite quickly, it taught many people how to become more online savvy. However, this has left many individuals separated from the world they once knew, the social and interactive world they once lived in, resulting in almost a lack of local support and knowledge of changes within their Community. Or in brief, their ‘go to‘ place has disappeared.
Although this online Community Hub may not be a building made of bricks and mortar, it is hoped, as it grows, it will become the epicentre of Lauderdale where a wealth of information can be found by our residents and visitors alike. Hubs all over the world are proving to be a catalyst for positive change, a place where individuals come together to learn, share, support each other, and build a stronger, more resilient community. From rural villages to bustling urban centers, community hubs are emerging as vital anchors, offering a diverse array of programs and services tailored to the specific needs of their populations. They address social isolation, promote economic development, and empower individuals to reach their full potential. So without further ado, let’s focus on making this website a useful place for all.
